President

José A Ruiz San Román. Full Professor at the Department of Sociología Aplicada (Applied Sociology), Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). 

Vice-Dean for International Relations, School of Communication, Universidad Complutense Madrid.

 

Author of “Introducción a la tradición clásica de la opinión pública” (Introduction to the Classical Tradition of Public Opinion) (1997) and co-author of “Sociología de la Comunicación” (Sociology of Communication) (1999) and “Investigar en Comunicación” (Research in Communication) (2005).

 

His research interests include Public Opinion, Media Effects, Social Campaigns and Social Communities. Director of the Complutense Research Group on “Responsible Communication and Vulnerable Audiences”.

 

ISA RC14: Vice-President (2018-2023); Member of the Board as Responsible for the RC14 sessions in Spanish (2014-2018).

Christiana Constantopoulou

Christiana Constantopoulou, Professor of Sociology (Panteion University and National & Kapodistrian University of Athens)

Christiana Constantopoulou is Dr (d’état -equivalent to “HDR” –Research Supervisor) of Sociology (Sorbonne University -1990), has 4 master degrees (anthropology, sociology of communication, political sociology, sociology of the law –Sorbonne Paris V & Paris II) and two bachelor degrees (Sociology, Sorbonne, Paris & Political Science, National University of Athens). She has been Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rouen University (France, 1991-92), then Professor at University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece, 1993-2007), Professor of Sociology of Communication at Panteion University (Athens Greece, since 2008) and visiting professor of Sociology of Leisure at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2022-23). Has been invited professor in many Universities in several countries (Canada, France, Italy, Lebanon, Romania, Tunisia etc.). Scientific responsible of many national and international conferences and congresses (many of them in the frame of ISA); member of the scientific committee of several journals (French Journal for Media Research, Sociétés, Sociologies, Socioanthropologie, Open Journal for Social Research, Revista Romana de Sociologia etc.). Has written many articles and books (in English, French and Greek, but also translated in Bulgarian and Portuguese).

Member of the board of the International Association of French Speaking Sociologists (AISLF- 4 missions 1996-2004 & 2008-2016), scientific responsible of AISLF- RC38 Political Sociology; Member of the board of ISA-RC13 Sociology of Leisure (2010-1014);

President of ISA-RC14 Sociology of Communication, Knowledge and Culture (four missions since 2006- 2022, extended 2023); Officer of the Order of Academic Palms (French Ministry of Education).

Dimitra Laurence Larochelle

Dimitra Laurence Larochelle (she/her/hers) is Associate Professor at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 (Paris, France).

 

She has a PhD in Cultural Studies (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3) and three master degrees in Sociology (Université Paris Descartes), in Communication (Université Panthéon-Assas) and in Anthropology (Université Paris 8 Vincennes – Saint-Denis). She is the co-author of the book Video mapping: heritage in lights and she coordinates the research project entitled “Online fatphobia. Representations, discourses and practices. The case of Instagram”.

 

She is Youth Representative at the United Nations for the International Sociological Association (ISA), member of the board of the RC37 (Sociology of Arts) of the ISA member of the scientific committee of Calenda - The calendar for the humanities and social sciences, member of the editorial committee of the international journal THESIS and associate editor of the international journal Art Style | Art & Culture International Magazine

Daniela Roventa-Frumusani

Daniela ROVENȚA-FRUMUȘANI is professor emeritus at the University of Bucharest Department of Cultural Anthropology and Communication, member of the Doctoral School of Communication Sciences and of the Interdisciplinary School of Doctoral Studies.

Specialist in semiotics, gender studies and discourse analysis, she authored five books,edited and co-edited ten books and five international journal issues and published over 150 studies and articles in the above mentioned fields, in Quaderni, Communication, ESSACHESS, Réseaux, Degrés, Kodikas-Code, Poetics, Revue Roumaine de sciences sociales, Canadian Journal for Communication.

She is member of the ISA-RC14 board ,since 2010, of the SFSIC (French Society of the Information and Communication Sciences), and of the scientific committees of Recherches féministes, Communication, Styles of Communication, The International Journal of Cross-Cultural Studies and Environmental Communication. She worked in 12 media and gender project teams (director and member of the project team), organized 30 summer schools, international conferences on gender, discourse, media, and evaluated over 80 projects within AUF (Agence Universitauire de la Francophonie).

Oksana Lychkovska-Nebot

Oksana Lychkovska-Nebot - Doctor (PhD) of Sociology, Professor Associated of Sociology Department of Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University (Ukraine). Actually, she is also a head of ISEWE (Intercultural Spaces of Eastern & Western Europes) - Centre of Intercultural Studies & Research Network, Paris, France. Author of more than 85 scientific papers (1996-2023).

Omar Cerrillo Garnica

Member of the board

​Omar Cerrillo Garnica is a Mexican researcher, member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1, at Mexico. PhD in Social and Political Sciences and Master's in Sociology. He offices as Director of School of Humanities of Tecnológico de Monterrey at Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. Coordinator of the books "Musical Cardinals" and "Mexican Rock: a puzzle under construction." He makes research on social and political analysis of art, music, and digital culture. He has participated in many conferences and congresses in Canada, Cuba, Brazil, Peru, Chile, and Mexico. From these symposia, he has published many academic articles and book chapters about his specializations, going from rap music for protest, TV series analysis or memes with political content. He has been advisor for public and private institutions in media information for strategic communication the last 25 years. He also was consultant for local governments in the execution of sports and culture programs to neutralize violence and crime. He is also a multi-instrumentalist musician, he recently published on various digital platforms the album "Phoenix Ashes" from his musical project called Espyral.
